Free Multimedia Resources and Facilitator Training

Math for All Professional Development Program

(Grades 3-5)

Math for All is a powerful professional development program that assists districts
as they aim to implement Common Core Standards-Based math education with a wide
range of learners, including those with disabilities. The program shows general
and special education teachers how to collaboratively plan and adapt math lessons
to help all students achieve high-quality, standards-based learning outcomes
in mathematics.

About the Facilitator Training Opportunity

Weare looking for math and special education leaders who are interested in facilitating
the Math for All professional development with teachers in their school districts.
Bank Street College of Education and EDC will provide FREE online training and professional
development resources. The training is part of a research study funded by the National
Science Foundation.Facilitators will receive:

* Online training and ongoing support from the program developers before and
during their implementation of the Math for All program (between October 2012-
February 2013)
* An extensive Facilitator's Guide and Multimedia Resources
* Participant Books with session handouts, additional reading materials, and a DVD
with classroom videos
* A stipend of $500 for participating in research

What are Facilitators asked to do?

Facilitators are expected to complete the online Math for All facilitator course
and implement the Math for All professional development with teachers in their
school district during the 2012-2013 school year. They will also be asked to participate
in research activities by completing online surveys.

Apply with a co-facilitator: The course is designed to be co-facilitated by two
facilitators: one with math expertise and one with special education expertise.

We encourage educators in the following roles to consider being a course facilitator:
math coordinator, math coach, math specialist, staff developer, special education
leader, inclusion facilitator, instructional support specialist, or teacher leaders.
