Math for All Professional Development Program

Math for All is a powerful professional development program that assists districts as they aim to implement Common Core Standards-Based math education with a wide range of learners, including those with disabilities. The program shows general and special education teachers how to collaboratively plan and adapt math lessons to help all students achieve high-quality, standards-based learning outcomes in mathematics. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
About the Facilitator Training Opportunity
Weare looking for math and special education leaders who are interested in facilitating the Math for All professional development with teachers in their school districts. Bank Street College of Education and EDC will provide FREE online training and professional development resources. The training is part of a research study funded by the National Science Foundation.Facilitators will receive:
* Online training and ongoing support from the program developers before and during their implementation of the Math for All program (between October 2012- February 2013) * An extensive Facilitator's Guide and Multimedia Resources * Participant Books with session handouts, additional reading materials, and a DVD with classroom videos * A stipend of $500 for participating in research activities ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What are Facilitators asked to do?
Facilitators are expected to complete the online Math for All facilitator course and implement the Math for All professional development with teachers in their school district during the 2012-2013 school year. They will also be asked to participate in research activities by completing online surveys.
Apply with a co-facilitator: The course is designed to be co-facilitated by two facilitators: one with math expertise and one with special education expertise.
We encourage educators in the following roles to consider being a course facilitator: math coordinator, math coach, math specialist, staff developer, special education leader, inclusion facilitator, instructional support specialist, or teacher leaders. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
