Antonija Horvatek has recently translated some of her GeoGebra applets into English:
a.. coloring the fractional part of the figure b.. express the colored part by using a fraction c.. mixed numbers d.. a fractional part of a group e.. decimal numbers on the number line f.. multiply decimal numbers by 10, 100, 1000 etc. g.. divide decimal numbers by 10, 100, 1000 etc. h.. convert length and area units i.. transversal j.. angles with parallel lines and angles with perpendicular lines k.. triangle area l.. square root spiral m.. square roots on a number line n.. the 25 squares game Horvatek, who teaches math in Croatia, continues to share these and other resources through the geometry.software.dynamic newsgroup:

Call for Speakers: HPM-Americas Meeting

The Americas Section of History and Pedagogy of Mathematics (HPM) recently announced its West Coast meeting, set for October 26-28, 2012, on the campus of University of California, Berkeley.
HPM seek a variety of talks on the relation between the history and pedagogy of mathematics. Talks directly relevant to the use of the history of mathematics in mathematics classrooms are especially welcome, as are reports of studies relating history and pedagogy.
Send the title and abstract of your talk proposal, along with contact information, to Kathy Clark by e-mailing drkclark@gmail.com
Special features of this meeting include a rare book exhibit and a visit to the Lawrence Hall of Science.
