Plotting 3D random data

I have some 3D data at points specified by vectors x, y and z, where the x,y
coordinates are not regular. I would like to plot a point at an (x,y)
coordinate whose colour is specified by the corrsponding value in z. I'm sure
this can be done in Matlab, but I can't currently see how.
