Integer only axis labeling ?

I need to plot a graph in Matlab in which the x-axis
represents an integer value. When I plot the graph matlab
labels the x-axis with numbers like 3.5, 4.5 (in addition to the
1 2 3 and 4 which are fine). I guess there must be a way to make it
label and put tic-marks only at the integer values. I remeber
something about tic-marks but am unable to find the right command.
Could someone please tell me if there is a simple way of doing this ?
