Re: xPC Will Not Create Boot CD Image

Hi Kang,
I sympathise with your plight.
Firstly, Matlab does not support laptops as targets. The xPC drivers are generally not compatible with the laptop peripherals (video & Ethernet). When you booted up the laptop did anything come up on the screen? I would expect not, but you may have been lucky?
I have been using a relatively old dual core (Intel core 2) machine. I connect using Ethernet. I have tried using more advanced desk tops (i5 and i7) but even these (the peripherals) are not supported very well. Apparently 2012b has improved support but I have not yet bothered to upgrade.
As for the CD, I expect it would have been created correctly. I created my boot CD using Windows 7. In Explorer I can?t see any files and when I try to navigate to it in ?DOS? it says the ?file or directory is corrupted??
I would suggest you try using an older desk top machine for the target. You also need to be careful connecting it to your network. Most networks dynamically allocate ip addresses, but of course your target needs the static address that you specified when creating the CD.
Hope this helps. Regards Phil
