I have sixty five million univariate observations, I need to find the Bayesian likelihood function for a distribution with two parameters while iterating over the parameters. Pragmatically I need the log likelihood function.

The problem has no analytic solution and I want to put a fine screen over the parameter space in the neighborhood of where the maximum likelihood values are likely located.

I have to accomplish it in SAS unfortunately.

I would prefer avoiding using a macro if possible.

I have posted a similar question in the sas forum.
