Senior Lecturer in Mathematics Education
(Intermediate and Senior Phase, FET phase)

(Ref. OPV01/297/0912)

Duties: Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate modules in
Mathematics Education ? developing and evaluating teaching and
learning materials ? developing the Mathematics Education skills of
education students ? research and publications in chosen specialist
fields ? supervision of postgraduate students ? relevant service to
the university and education community.

Requirements: a relevant PhD degree; a relevant education/teaching
qualification; Mathematics up to at least third-year university level
or an equivalent qualification; experience in teaching Mathematics in
the BEd Intermediate and Senior Phase (GET) as well as PGCE FET ;
published research in peer reviewed journals; thorough knowledge of
education policy and practice; appropriate school educational

Recommendations: Experience in teaching Mathematics Education at a
higher education institution; potential to provide supervision to
postgraduate students; experience in and knowledge of computer aided

Commencement of duties: 1 January 2013
