Hi everyone!

I hope many of you are getting excited and geared up for the Live, Love, Math conference coming up in Rye Brook, NY. The number of sessions planned is absolutely AMAZING! We have over 200 high quality workshops, sessions, and minicourses just waiting for participants. Hopefully we will be able to post our final program in the next few weeks. Look out for it at www.amtnys.org.

All other conference information can also be found there.

In these tough financial times for education, I recognize that many of you may have been denied access to the conference by your districts during the school day. Perhaps if that is your situation and you happen to live close by, you would consider attending the keynote and awards session on Thursday, Nov. 8 beginning at 5:30. Because Keith Devlin is such a dynamic speaker, you may not want to miss this opportunity. If you would like to attend the Keith Devlin session ONLY, the cost is $10.00. NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR. This opportunity is only available directly through me, so if you are interested, send me an email DIRECTLY (elizwaite@aol.com) - please do not reply to the entire list serve:) and I will let you know what you need to do to receive your tickets ahead of time.

For full conference participants, the cost of attending the keynote is of course included in your registration fee.

Keith will also be doing a book signing just before the event. If anyone has the chance, check out his book "Mathematics Education for a New Era: Video Games as a Medium for Learning". They will be available before the event and proceeds will benefit the AMTNYS scholarship fund.

I hope to hear from some of you soon!
Liz
