polar plot superimposed on circle

Hi,
I have a \theta vs \rho data which can be plotted using polar command in Matlab.
I need to get a modified polar plot as follows. I want to add a circle (say of radius 1 unit) in the polar plot. Circle center has to be the same as that of the polar plot. The circle is meant to show the value of the function (\rho) on the circle boundary ( like a scattering problem in acoustics where scattered potentials are shown on the top of a circle using a polar plot). However the values of the data points in the polar plot should not change ( at least for display purpose) after the addition of circle. How do I do this superimposition?
Many thanks for the help. G.
