Storing large matrix data into text files

Dear friends

I've been trying to use 'save', 'fprintf' and 'dlmwrite' to export a 9x100 matrix to a txt file. Things look great if the number of colums is not as large as 100. If they are, the matrix won't look exactly the same as it does in Excel. The problem is that I am sending this data to someone who needs the file in the txt or dat formats!

The general format is %3.4f

Any help will be very much appreciated!
