[B-spline] Generating interpolant from non-interpolating cubic B-spline kernel

I'm newbie to the interpolation area.
According to my understanding, unlike the sinc function,
the cubic B-spline function does not vanish for non zero integer value of abscissa.

Is there a simple way to generate its interpolating version (vanish for non zero abscissa)
of cubic B-spline function?
