Hi,
I want to understand a function that has the following codes;

f1 =(1/2/epsilon)*(1+cos(pi*phi1/epsilon));
b = (phi1<=epsilon) & (phi1>=-epsilon);
f = f1.*b;

Here, phi1 is double and 256x256. The term epsilon is a constant, lets say 1.5
I have written the following codes to understand but the results are not meaningful. (I have tried mesh, surf, plot, contour commands instead of imshow)

figure(1);
subplot(2,2,1);imshow(f1);
subplot(2,2,3); imshow(b);
subplot(2,2,4); imshow(f);

Could you please help me to understand how f, f1 and b looks
