this might be a question posed before:

If I write a new matlab script or function and save it in a directory
included in the matlab path, it is not known to the matlab command
window. I.e. I cannot run it (error message:??? Undefined variable or
function testi; Caps Lock may be on.)

In version 4.2 this problem could be overcome by running the matlabrc
command. Under 5.0 I have tried this and other things like 'clear all'
or 'clear functions' but nothing helps (except quitting and restarting

Does anyone have an idea how to rescan the functions in the path?
