Hi,

I used mpgwrite to create a .mpg file from a Matlab movie. This file
runs fine on a shareware viewer for win3.1, but does not run on the
Windows 95 media player or the QT for Windows movie player (both of
which claim to support .mpg).

Does anyone have an explanation for this behaviour?

The files were produced from Matlab 4.2 on a PC using the command:

mpgwrite(M,colormap,'test.mpg')

Also, in the viewer that would run the file, there was apparently some
'white noise'--extraneous pixels plotted in the figure. I presume that
this is caused by the MPEG compression routines, but is there any way I
can stop it?

-Paul
