Algebra 2/Trig Standard Deviation Question

When you teach Standard deviation, do you use the qualifier of if there are 30 or more numbers it is a population deviation vs less than 30 a sample deviation? A couple of us had this discussion today, and I thought previous conversations were, although that qualifier is true, for the A2/Trig curriculum we assume population deviation unless the question states it is a sample. Thoughts please.
