The University of Manitoba - Faculty of Education
Tenure Track Position - Mathematics Education

The Department of Curriculum, Teaching and Learning invites
applications for the tenure track position at the assistant professor
or associate rank in the area of mathematics education. Rank will be
commensurate with qualifications and experience. The preferred start
date for this position is July 1, 2013 or as soon as possible
thereafter.

The successful candidate will have completed a doctoral degree in
education in a field of study related to mathematics education. For
those applying at the assistant professor level consideration will be
given to doctoral candidates who are near completion of their
dissertation. Candidates must have relevant teaching experience at
the school and/or post- secondary level. While applicants with
teaching experiences at any grade level (K - 12) are welcome,
preference will be given to candidates who can teach mathematics
education at the Grades K - 4 (Early Years) level. The successful
candidate will have a demonstrated research agenda and scholarly
publications. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in at least
one other program area of the faculty.

Initial responsibilities will include a combination of: (1) teaching
undergraduate and graduate courses in Education; (2) carrying out an
active research program; (3) working collaboratively as a member of
Faculty programs and initiatives; (4) advising graduate students; (5)
participating in the Faculty's service activities; (6) serving as an
active liaison between the Faculty and broader university and
educational communities (e.g., school divisions, educational
organizations, Manitoba Education).
