Note from Frank Lester, with Information.

I am saddened to report that my dear friend and colleague, Kath Hart,
died at her home in Richmond, UK on Tuesday, April 16, after a long,
valiant struggle with cancer. The funeral will be held at noon on
May 2 at the church she attended, Saint Elizabeth of Portugal, The
Vineyard, Richmond with interment following at 1:30. Following,
there will be food available at a pub called the "Lass of Richmond
Hill."

For more than 50 years Kath was actively involved in mathematics
education all over the world, notably, in Mexico, Thailand, and South
Africa, where she worked tirelessly with teachers, teacher educators,
and researchers. She was a devoted member of the International Group
for the Psychology of Mathematics Education and served as its
President from 1990-92. The mathematics education community has lost
one of its foremost leaders. We shall sorely miss her.
