My original concern:
When I enter:
vec1=[2 -1-3*i]'

It returns:
2.0000
-1.0000 + 3.0000i

Not sure what you are getting at my problem is that I get this:

>> vec1=[2 -1-3*i]'

vec1 =

2.0000
-1.0000 + 3.0000i

So I'm not sure how your post address my concern in my original post...I understand how it is *supposed* to behave, but it is not behaving that way.

UNless I am missing something.
