For some background information on trapezoids to read and share as necessary, there are a few threads in the geometry.pre-college.independent discussion on the Math Forum. Just type "inclusive definitions" (in quote marks) into the search field. http://mathforum.org/kb/forum.jspa?forumID=128&start=0

I would hope that any assessment (PARCC or Smarter Balanced) would define the term in the actual test, then ask students to build upon that definition.
