Karen,
Who are you asking?
I think that Loretta is just doing a blank sheet "tell me what you know" formulas, facts, etc. Denise is using old regents exams.
I didn't hand out questions for the topic review summary sheets/ booklet; but think that perhaps, in the future, I will. I would use old regents exam questions. Some of my students were "confused" about what their topic was supposed to be one gave me a lovely intro to logarithms, when he was supposed to be doing how to solve log equations. So, to avoid this, I would perhaps pick 2 4 regents type questions of various levels (MC, 2pts, 3pts, 4pts) to go with each topic.

What type of questions do you out in them?

I love that idea! Just may have to borrow it :)
I've posted before the "round robin" review that I have used. I break the kids into groups of 24 depending on class size, place 6 large sheets of paper around the room with topics at the top (unit names), give kids different color markers as they walk in creating "random" groups. I then give them 3 minutes at a station to "dump their knowledge" and then switch. When they have made their way around the stations we then post them in the room and as a group talk about what it is that they have recalled, fix any misconceptions, add anything new and then I leave them hanging for the remainder of the review period for the kids to revisit. I usually do 2 days of this, 6 topics a day. They are typically amazed at how much they DO know and it makes it easier to decide which areas need to be focused on for review.
Good luck to everyone this June!

I am always looking for good review ideas!
Do you use the "little green book"? How do you keep them accountable for doing those problems?
Thanks!
Here's one thing I did this year. Instead of review posters, I had them do Topic Review Summary Sheets.
Review booklet: I had my students do a 2 page review of a topic (different ways to solve a quadratic equation). I am hoping (if they are good) to collect them all into a review booklet to copy for them. I assigned the topics so I wouldn't get 10 of the same one. They had to include explanations of how to solve regentslevel problems on their topic, as well as any appropriate formulas, diagrams. etc. I gave extra credit if they came up with a mnemonic to help us remember how to solve/simplify their problem. They were encourage to use their notes, textbook, and/or internet as resources. I allowed them a week and a half to do it. ******************************************************************* * To unsubscribe from this mailing list, email the message * "unsubscribe nyshsmath" to majordomo@mathforum.org<mailto:majordomo@mathforum.org> * * Read prior posts and download attachments from the web archives at * http://mathforum.org/kb/forum.jspa?forumIDg1 *******************************************************************
