Proper transfer function inversion

Dear friends

Has anybody of you written a function for proper transfer function
inversion, and is willing to share?

I know that this is really a very tricky task because we did that in FORTRAN
and we do not want to invest all that effort for a MATLAB-transplementation
if anybody has done that before.
