Here's what I'd like to do:

I have a 2D plot for an ANOVA of 52 trials with 5 repetitions per trial.
The tick mark labels for the x-axis ("1","2","3","4",...,"52") are
crammed together because of the 52 different x-axis trials in the ANOVA.
So the numbers which label the x-axis are unreadable (e.g.
"4849505152").

Is there a way that I can change the labeling on the tick marks such
that I only have a number written every 10 or so. (e.g. "1 10 20
30 40 50")? Also, is there a way to change those tick markers to
text strings such as ("apples oranges lemons bananas")?

Thanks.
