Using LWT to create a new Wavelet

Hi,

i'm currently fiddling around with lwt and dwt and the theory behind it.

As far as i understood the whole lifting scheme, i should be able to create a new wavelet ("first generation") by using lifting. However, i do not know how to get the wavelet function/filter out of the lwt/lwtcoeff functions in matlab.

Here is what i wanted to do:
Create a new wavelet based on a certain signal and use the new wavelet basis for other signals. Using that basis would mean that it is geared to patterns in the first signal. For that reason i tried to use lwt.

Please feel free to comment on my strategy itself if i got something wrong ;)

Thank you in advance.

Cheers,
Stephan
