The First ANNOUNCEMENT (revised)

The Korean Society of Mathematical Education
(KSME) will host the 17th International Seminar
of Mathematics Education on Creativity
Development and Gifted Children.

When: August 9-10, 2013 (Fri.-Sat.)
Venue: Mokwon Univ., Doan-dong, Seo-gu, Daejeon 302-729, Korea

Daejeon is located in the center of South Korea.
Daejeon can be accessed by expressways, national
highways, railroad, and air within 2 hours from
anywhere in South Korea.

CALL FOR PAPERS

Papers written in English, which are accepted for
presentation at the Seminar will be published in
the Proceedings of the Seminar or in the Journal
of the Korean Society of Mathematical Education
Series D: RME depend on the conditions of the
manuscript.

Submission of the manuscripts: The deadline of
applying for a paper presentation at the
International Sessions of Oral Delivery or the
Poster Session is June 7 (Fri.) for abstracts.
The deadline for the submission of full
manuscripts or posters is July 8 (Mon.).
For the instruction for manuscripts, see page iv
of any issue of the journal RME.
Please send us the title of the article, the
names of authors with affiliations, the abstract
not exceeding 100 words, key words, MESC

These are usually consist of the first page of the article.
The limit of an article length for the
Proceedings of the Seminar is 10 pages. When the
article is accepted for the Journal of the Korean
Society of Mathematical Education Series D, the
limit is 20 pages.
The limit of a poster is A0 size (w 840mm x h 1188mm).
Papers written in English, which are prepared in
the journal article format and accepted for RME
publication (Articles for RME will be sent to
three referees for peer reviewing.), will be
published in

Journal of the Korean Society of Mathematical Education Series D:

RESEARCH IN MATHEMATICAL EDUCATION (RME)

Volume 17, Number 2 (June, 2013)

There are page-charges associated with articles
appearing in the journal. The charges are US$200
for the first six pages or less and US$20 for
each additional page. These charges are waived
(limit: 10 pages a person) if the author or
authors have paid the Registration Fees,
personally attend the meeting to present the
paper, and have willingness to review three
papers written by others.
The deadline for the submission of full
manuscripts for the Journal of the KSME Series D:
RME is June 7 (Fri.).
Papers written in English, which are accepted for
presentation at the Meeting but not accepted for
Journal of the KSME Series D: RME, will be
published in the Proceedings of the Meeting.

If you submit the full article for the posters
before June 7 (Fri.) it may appear in the journal
RME if it is suitable for the journal article.

The city Daejeon is located about 140km south of
Seoul, and Seoul has two int°Øl airports,

Incheon Int°Øl Airport is the major airport in
Korea and there are direct flights from most
cities of the world. There are shuttle busses
connecting Incheon Int°Øl Airport and Daejeon.

Gimpo Airport is the nearest airport to the
center of Seoul. There are direct flights from
many cities of East Asia. There are shuttle
busses connecting Gimpo Airport and Daejeon.

South Korea. Gimhae Int°Øl Airport in Busan and
Jeju Int°Øl Airport are also convenient entry
airports to come to Daejeon. There are direct
flights from many cities of East Asia to theses
airports.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Daejeon has many hotels and motels. A wide range
of accommodation is available for participants to
choose from. The room rate varies from 40,000Won
(US$36) to more than 200,000Won (US$180) per
night (Exchange rate: US$ 1 = 1,100 Won).
