NYSED is looking for people from Westchester County to serve on the Standard Setting Committee for 3-8 assessments. The Committees will meet on Saturday, June 29 through Tuesday, July 2, 2013, from 8:00 - 5:00 each day, at a hotel in the Albany area.

The purpose of each Standard Setting Committee is to discuss the performance standards and to provide recommendations for the performance level cut scores for the Grades 3-8 Common Core Tests.

Participants must have a deep knowledge of the Common Core standards; content expertise; and current teaching experience in grades 3-8 math, English language learners, or students with disabilities; or be a curriculum specialist or teach in higher education.

If you are a Westchester County teacher who is interested in participating in this important work, please contact me at ryan.colleen@avcsk12.org or kesselpark@yahoo.com.

Thank you,
Colleen Ryan
