Request to those writing introductory notes/books on differential forms

Personally, I find it a bit confusing when the path is indicated by gamma and the differential form includes a term like ydx. y looks incredibly similar to gamma in the text I'm reading.

Is there any way this practice can be avoided or care taken to make these letters a bit more dissimilar?
