The Math Scoring Room in Albany

I realized after calling SED today that the image I have in my head when I'm talking to the scoring room is of a bare room, grey concrete floor, pale concrete walls, no furniture, 2 or 3 people sitting on the floor around a phone with a single wire snaking off to a single phone outlet in the wall. Not sure if they are allowed out for light or exercise or if they are confined to the scoring room for the duration of Regents week. And they sit there on the floor, being given phone calls from us all day by SED people on the outside of the concrete walls.

I think it's the echo-y speaker phone, and the way disembodied voices join in the conversation at times. I assume the actual room is not as spartan. But there have been lots of budget cutbacks, so ...
