The New York City Mathematics Project is offering a one day professional development workshop for educators in the implementation of NYS Common Core Algebra I course. The workshop will focus on Mathematics Content, the Standards for Mathematical Practices and the Instructional shifts. Connections will be made to the Danielson Framework for Teaching, specifically to components from Domains 1 and 3 - Designing Coherent Instruction; Using Questioning and Discussion Techniques; Engaging Students in Learning; and Using Assessment in Instruction. Participants will explore the most recent resources supporting Common Core instruction, best practices and performance tasks that promote student learning. Educators will return to their schools with strategies, lessons and activities to prepare students to succeed.

The Algebra I workshop will be held will be held on
July 25 at
Lehman College,
250 Bedford Park Blvd. West, Bronx NY
8 a.m.-1:30 pm. (breakfast will be provided)
Cost per participant is $125
