I have both Microsoft Excel 2010 and Microsoft Office Excel Viewer. I would like to access Excel Viewer from MATLAB, either by activex, java, or some other method of control. I would like to open a file and import the data into MATLAB. Excel does not work for me in this regard, neither does XLSREAD, even in "basic" mode.

Does anyone know how to do this?

TIA,
Michael
