I'm working as a tutor with a student next year, who got passed in the LAUSD through algebra II but doesn't really know algebra or even some pre-algebra. I am wondering what we should focus on. When she gets to college, typically will she be tested on algebra? And if she doesn't show competence, will she be required to re-take it? If so, we should focus on her pre-algebra and algebra skills.
