If these 15 people had not echoed the now-hackneyed rhetoric about Common Core that is bandied about but instead taken an actual look at the "mathematical knowledge and skill" that even an average student in the highest performing countries attains, beginning at the elementary school level, they might recognize that students who master each and every standard set forth by Common Core would lag far behind their international peers.

But don't take our word for it. William Schmidt's "study", referred to in another post on ncsm-members, was thoroughly refuted:
