Announcement from the Department of Mathematics of Lehman College,
City University of New York (CUNY)?


A full-time teaching position to teach courses in mathematics
including upper-level and graduate level courses in mathematics for
teachers; a portion of the teaching is expected to be in the evening;
committee service, and advising. The main responsibility of the
candidate is to teach undergraduate and graduate classes to support
math teacher preparation for middle and high schools. Faculty will
have the opportunity to collaborate with the Lehman College based
centers and institutes on research and other projects of scholarly


Earned doctorate in mathematics or mathematics education by September
2014 preferred; evidence of excellence in teaching, preferably in
urban schools grades 5-12; strong academic and professional
references; effective oral and written communicative skills. College
teaching experience required. Commitment to teaching and
departmental, college-wide, and university-wide service. Diverse
candidates with experience and interest in urban students, schools,
and communities are strongly encouraged to apply.
