The Department of Teaching and Learning at Washington State
University Tri-Cities seeks applicants for a tenure track faculty
position beginning Fall 2014 with expertise in research and teaching
in one of the following areas: mathematics education, science
education, or social studies education.

Responsibilities: Conduct scholarly research leading to publication
in area of expertise. Pursue extramural funding to support active
research agenda. Teach graduate and undergraduate courses focused in
area of expertise, as well as one or more of the following: classroom
assessment, research methods, and theories of learning and
instruction. Mentor graduate students and engage in service
activities. Work productively with WSU faculty across departments,
programs, and campuses utilizing face-to-face, online, and/or
teleconference instructional formats to meet student and programmatic

Required Qualifications: Earned doctorate in education with an
emphasis on mathematics education, science education, or social
studies education or a closely related field by employment start
date, a demonstrated record of or potential for scholarly
productivity, extramural funding, and excellence in teaching. Minimum
of two years of experience in K-12 schools. Record of and/or
commitment to working with underrepresented, multilingual, and/or
multicultural students. Ability to establish effective partnerships
with a variety of school districts and state agencies.

current letters of recommendation, two samples of scholarly work, and
