OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS (Tenured Position)

MATHEMATICS EDUCATION

The Department of Mathematics at Oklahoma State University (OSU)
invites applications for a tenured position at the rank of Associate
Professor or Professor beginning the Fall semester of 2014.
Applicants are required to have a Ph.D. in mathematics education or
in the mathematical sciences with a research emphasis in mathematics
education. Candidates must have demonstrated excellence in research
and teaching at all postsecondary levels, must have experience
advising graduate students, and should have a successful record of
external funding. The successful candidate will be expected to
conduct research and publish in undergraduate mathematics education
(RUME), provide quality teaching of undergraduate and graduate
courses, attract significant research funding, and participate in
on-campus interdisciplinary activities and appropriate professional
service.

The Department of Mathematics has three options for specialization
within the masters and doctoral degree programs: Mathematics
Education, Applied Mathematics, and Core Mathematics. The Department
is undertaking a major initiative for learning and success in
undergraduate mathematics. The Department currently has 38 full time
faculty members and over 45 supported graduate students, the latter
is building to 54 supported graduate students. The Department has
excellent physical and high performance computing facilities and is
seeking to build a strong presence in the research and practice of
undergraduate mathematics education. Additional information can be

available funding.

2) a personal statement addressing the candidate's research agenda;
3) a statement of teaching philosophy

including one that addresses teaching.
