Since I have many data points I can not use the default marker code(or in the figure editor) to turn markers on for my figure. How can I add them at custom distances?

This is my code for three different graphs:

figure(Fig_true);
plot(true_strain(1:a,1),true_stress(1:a,1),'b','linewidth',3);

figure(Fig_eng);
plot(eng_strain,eng_stress,'b','linewidth',3);

figure(Fig_strain_h);
plot(true_strain(1:a,1), strain_h,'b');

I would like the legend to be shown correctly by the way!
