Stop help browser from creating new tabs

I've noticed an annoying behavior in the 2013b Help Browser and was hoping someone had a fix. This problem did NOT occur back in 2012a but I haven't used the intermediate releases because of the new tools trip, so perhaps the change occurred before 2013b.

When I access the documentation for one of MATLAB'S functions, e.g.:
>> doc sin
the Help Browser brings up a new tab. When I click on various links (asind, sin, sind) to get related documentation, it is display in the *same* tab. Custom documentation is treated very differently. Suppose I start a new tab:
>> doc my_func
which contains a "See also" entry that links with related functions. A new tab opens each time I press these links.

Is there any way to force the Help Browser to stay in the same tab unless the a new tab is explicitly created?
