I'm trying to save a figure (drawn using the plot command) from matlab
(unix) in a format that is then accessible by most drawing packages such
as MacDraw Pro, Canvas etc.

I will appreciate any tips. So far I have tried saving the figure using
the '-dtiff' option but it does not seem to work. Ideally I'd like to
save the graph/plot in such a way that macdraw pro (macintosh) or some
drawing package on unix (such as xfig) can read.
