How to obtain rate 1/2, 1/3. and 1/4 from a M-PSK TCM Encoder

This is set-up using Simulink,

A Bernoulli generator outputs 9600 bits into an M-PSK TCM Encoder.

Parameter of Bernoulli generator:
Probability of zero: 0.5
Initial Seed: 40813
Sample time: 1e-4
Frame-Based outputs selected
samples per frame: 9600
Output data type: boolean

Parameter of Encoder:
Trellis Structure: poly2trellis(5, [23 35 27])
Operation mode: continuous
M-ary number: 8
Output data type: double

I am new to encoding, but i read a loads on TCM and the Matlab documentations. For my project, i need to keep the constraint length to 5! but how do i get rate 1/2, 1/3 and 1/4? i got the generator numbers from research papers for different rates but they do not work.

Between, poly2trellis codes that work in convolutional block does not work in M-PSK TCM. why is that so?
