Culture in the Secondary Mathematics Classroom Conference

Join us for in-depth discussions about how we have been exploring
with inservice teachers the role of culture in the secondary
mathematics classroom.

June 16 - 20, 2014 at the University of Northern Colorado

Conference participants will engage in professional development
around the instructional modules from our Culture in the Math
Classroom course, which was designed to support secondary mathematics
teachers in developing the dispositions and skills for culturally
responsive teaching. During the conference, we will share research
results related to our use of these modules and facilitate disussions
that critically examine and reflect on the modules.

Who should attend

University mathematics teacher educators with an interest in the role
of culture in the secondary mathematics classroom and university
science teacher educators who are interested in exploring how this
course might be adapted for working with secondary science teachers.
