Call for Proposals

The Institute for the Development of Gifted Education (IDGE)
(<http://www.idge.edu>www.idge.edu) is excited to host the 2014
International Group for Mathematical Creativity and Giftedness (MCG)
8th International Conference on the University of Denver campus, July
28-30, 2014, in Denver, Colorado, USA.

This conference is aimed at promoting mathematical creativity and
giftedness in students of all ages and backgrounds, and in supporting
interested mathematics educators, mathematicians, researchers and
other individuals.

. Early Childhood and Primary Education

. Middle Level and Secondary Education

. Teacher Preparation and Professional Development

. Research Topics in Mathematics/Giftedness/Creativity

. Policy

We are now accepting proposals at

Please find a description of each session type below:

. Panel Discussions: The panel might include discussion of global
perspectives on policy, teacher preparation, acceleration, and
programs. (5 page paper)

. Presentations: Presentations might include descriptions of the
teaching practices, curricula, projects, and programs aimed at the
development of students' mathematical creativity and giftedness. (5
page paper)

. Research Reports: Presentation on authentic research in the field
of mathematical creativity and the education of gifted students. (5
page paper)

. Workshops: This type of presentation will require the active
involvement of participants and will emphasize hands-on activities.
(2 page paper)

. Poster Presentations: These presentations are available for those
whose work is more suitably communicated in pictorial or graphic
form, or as a demonstration as opposed to oral presentation. (2 page
paper)

During the submission process you are required to submit a 100 word
abstract and a five or two page paper for the proceedings (length is
dependent on presentation type). The style guide is required and
available on the website.

The Call for Proposals is open until January 31, 2014 11:55PM (MST).
