17th Annual CMP Users' Conference

Developing Mathematical Understanding and Reasoning

February 21-23, 2014

Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center

Michigan State University

CMP3 was launched in Fall 2013. While CMP3 will be the center of the
conversations, the intent of the conference has remained the same
over the last 17 years. The Users' Conference is designed to provide
thought provoking and insightful conversations around mathematics
teaching, learning, and assessing for all CMP classes. In particular,
you will have an opportunity to participate in discussions that focus

* Changes and new features in CMP3

* Correlations among CMP3 and CCSS and the Standards for
Mathematical Practice

* Content overviews by grade level

* Strategies to increase mathematical understanding and skill

* Differentiated instruction in CMP classrooms

* Examples of videos and student work to illustrate students'
understanding and reasoning

* Sharing ideas and gaining new insights with fellow CMP teachers
from other districts and states

* English language learners and special needs students

* Technology

* Productive classroom discourse

* Coaching in a CMP classroom

* Developing CMP teacher leaders

* Assessment in CMP classrooms
