Using Matlab to listen to COM events

Dear All,

I'm looking at the documentation on the following page:

http://www.mathworks.co.uk/help/matlab/matlab_external/using-events.html#f112789

under the header: "Responding to Interface Events from an Automation Server".

Basically, what I'd like to do is have some Matlab code which creates an Excel workbook and then waits around so it can listen to events. (I can't trial it at the moment, because I don't have Excel here.) In order to do that, do I have to keep a Matlab script running in some way (e.g., an ongoing while loop with a pause in it). Or once I've registered the relevant event, will things take care of themselves?

James.
