Optimization using fsolve

Hi all,

I want to minimize a non-linear system of equations. I'm using fsolve
from the optimization toolbox version 2.0. There are about 100
parameters to be calculated iteratively. The equation is of cubic type
(F(x,x^3)=0) and there are problems to find adequate solutions even
though the starting values of the 100 parameters are quite close to the
expected values. I tried to change the options (TolPCG and
PrecondBandWidth) but that didn't help. My questions are:

1. Does anybody have experience with that kind of non-linear equations?
2. Are there other possibilities to calculate the parameters of such a
non-linear system of equations iteratively using MATLAB?

Thanks for all the feedback
