PARCC Membership Drops to 17

By Catherine Gewertz

It was kind of a done deal already, of course, since Florida
announced a couple weeks ago that it chose the American Institutes
for Research, rather than PARCC, to make its common-core tests. But
today we see that PARCC has officially dropped Florida from its list
of members. [See
http://blogs.edweek.org/edweek/state_edwatch/2014/03/florida_picks_common-core_test_from_air_not_parcc.html
]

That reduces PARCC's membership to 16 states and the District of
Columbia. Here is our updated assessment consortium map, showing the
state of consortium membership. How high will that "none" number go?
Stay tuned.
