You're right about MATLAB being very expensive. While I really enjoy using MATLAB, I must say that there are very attractive alternatives which I am actively pursuing, which do not try to continually exploit people for profit. I think that TMW's continued use of costly licensing may be it's own downfall as "the" industry standard software to use.

I disagree with you about ImageAnalyst. I know that he has been active on the community forums over the past week and yet it has been 6 days since he requested that I post a script and data, without a single comment. That's not cool. I did try to contact him very cordially, but was ignored. Moreover, I don't think that he has contributed anything significant in terms of an actually useful suggestion, despite what I believe to be very clear guidelines of what I want. Instead, I've gotten that it sounds confusing and complicated, which for someone who calls himself an ImageAnalyst, I think is kind of sad. I certainly wouldn't pay for his services if that's the kind of quality I would expect to get.
