gray value probability
Posted: Aug 21, 2014 5:35 AM

Hi all.

I need to calculate the probability of finding a specific gray-value inside an image.
I will try to explain my self with an example.

I have 5 images with different sizes and I am using the histogram of each image divided by the number of pixels in the image as the probability function to find a gray-value in each image. So now I have 5 different probability functions that represent the probability of all gray-values in each image. All images have 256 gray-values

How can I combine the 5 probability functions to have only one that I could use as the probability of every gray-values to appear in an image.

I think I can combine this probability functions in many ways. Can I do this by calculating the mean, max or min for every gray value in my probability functions? If this is so, which one is better to use?

Thanks
