You are right. The TV shows, the movies, the schools. Consumerism piled on educationalism. So why are you adding more fake? I would think you would want to have that programming I, II and III.

Btw, I was using Jupyter 30 years ago, the paradigm is hardly new, and we were programming just fine in Pascal 40 years ago as well. In fact, I did some neat 3D stuff in basic. You want to see kids programming. Visit a First robotics club in your area. Maybe you can hook them up with Python and get them off of Java. I don't care about the language, they are all the same at my level. But Python is probably a good move at their age.
