Cube problem:
How would you change this problem if you were going to use it?

I have used this problem a number of times in workshops as well as
pre-algebra classes. I always give the students buckets of cubes so
that they can see the problem in concrete form prior to dealing with
the abstract. I encourage them to make a chart and find the patterns
before developing the formulas.
