Below are the addresses of two sites presenting contrasting views of the
opportunities held by the WWW for students -- at least one author thinks
they differ significantly. Writing for an audience is a powerful door
opened wider by the Web. Creating and exploring micro-worlds through which
students can communicate with peers and invent relationships, identities,
and environments outside the boundaries of traditional school offers
another set of possibilities. What are you aiming for? How might these
emphases complement each other?
