Ball travels in an ellipse? I would think that the path is a parabola. When
the ball bounces, you also have an angle. There is the angle at which the
paddle is held which will impact on the angle at which the ball is deflected.
When the paddle hits the ball, one side of the ball would be slightly
compressed, changing it's volume slightly.
